Unfortunately, the baby in the front was in crisis. Piece of food was too big and it couldn't swallow it or spit it out...it tried and tried and tried. Mom didn't notice and started to brood. it tried several times to crawl out from under her, trying to spit the food out..and was unsuccessful. I hope it is ok...but, I don't know...really the first time I have seen chick unable to swallow or spit the food back out...usually the parent notices and grabs it...but that didn't happen this time..I'm a tad worried..

Watched a feeding, unfortunately the cam gets blurry when there's movement. All four were up and eating, so the little one with the food stuck survived, evidently. She seemed a tad bit overwhelmed though with all that screaming and all those mouths open. I know I was. :teehee:

Mom (purple band) is feeding (whole songbird? feathers and all) chicks now. Holy Moly, she's shoving huge pieces of meat mixed with feathers down their little beaks!
(Pics aren't clear enough to see.)
Feed looks even between all of them.- :girlcrazy:

Added: 12:15pm
The little one isn't getting much; not "gaping" as much as others (but the humongous couple of pieces he got already should take a while to digest!).
Mom is still at it - feeding away - and eating herself.

12:17pm
Please check the little one's left eye - is food stuck on it or is it injured?
Darn, she's brooding now.

Here's a pic of the wee one's left eye (X) noticed during last feed above:

S/he wasn't blinking - it was like that the whole time.

Another feed going on now
and I lost the cam.
(Maybe it's because I had 8 cams up.)

I had my son take me up to the highest speed we can get so I can have around 12 going, but then I start getting confused where I am :girlcrazy:

:loveshow: Mine gets so bad that restarting doesn't help - I have to turn everything off, unplug, take the battery out and start over! :girlcrazy: Glad I'm not alone! (Of course, I'm always confused as to which cam it is!!) :15heartbeat:

I just checked because of SGB's post in Breaking News, couldn't get the one cam but got the multi-cam. I saw chat indicated all 4 were fed, then I came here & see that our folks also saw that! She had them covered so I couldn't see them.

Thanks so much everyone for checking on this nest...I was a tad worried last night about the little one...I usually don't get bent outta shape about big pieces, but watching this little one struggle..then fight to get out from under mom so it could continue to expel whatever was in its mouth was a little unnerving...and then she covered them all up..and that was it for the night!!

happy to see all 4 up and eating!!
