Swin,I've looked everywhere that I know of (several FB pages, forums, etc) and there's no info on E8.
SWFECam's FB page had one post from a gal who went to the nest about an hour ago and saw nothing; no feathers under the nest, but she did see a bunch of young eagles flying around - and any one of them could've been E8.
(I couldn't get the cam - (my PC is sick), FB said that chat is closed anyway. No new updates posted on the banner.

SWFL chat is open at the moment. They said that there is no news and if they hear anything they would post it right away. Ground crews have been searching all day.

I hope E8 is alright and shows up soon!

"I have been watching this story throughout the day and thought it a good idea to post what we know for sure and what we don’t know. A cam viewer reported at about 3am Sat that it looked like an owl had attacked the nest and the eaglets and since that time E8 has not been seen. The owl attack has not been confirmed, but what is confirmed is that E8 has not been seen all day. Both eaglets have fledged and are able to fly, so E8 really could be anywhere. It is unusual for a newly fledged eaglet to leave the nest area, but not unheard of. It is also important to remember that the eaglets are bigger than the owls at this point in their life, so it is not at all likely that owl, if there an attack, would have carried E8 away or anything like that. If E8 was seriously injured, it would be likely that he would be on the ground near the nest and many folks have been looking all day and have not seen E8 -although it is not clear whether the fields have been searched directly on the ground. So talons crossed that E8 is just away, perhaps startled or scared away, but it is reasonably likely that all is okay. I hope that helps a little bit with the worries. We will all feel better if E8 pops up again on cam for sure, but all we can do at this point is trust that lots of people are watching for him and keep everyone posted. Link to cam: http://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com/eagle-feed.html (the pic above shows E7 hanging out at the nest today)

From FB...posted about an hour ago..

FYI This question was just asked in the chat -
Do we know if anyone has physically checked the area around the nest including the ground in the west pasture in/behind the trees for E8?
Chat Mods response - yes it has been physically checked and E8 was not spotted which is good news.

"I hoped to see E8 return this evening but E7 was still alone in the nest tree, quietly perched.
Harriet spent time at yonder pond before returning with food for E7.
M15 flew in at dusk. Praying for E8's safe return"

That would be such a shame if E8 was lost to another raptor after all that bird has been through. :girlsad3:

Czat

May 8 2016, 7:39 PM (-6h)

GinnyLWI: That morning both adults were seen in the area and E7. There has been no confirmed sighting of E8. A family member of the cam owners did conduct a search of the area on May 7. There have also been visitors around the nest location keeping an eye out, but anything else is speculation.

GinnyLWI: We will share any information we received, but there is no reason to believe E8 has been injured at this point. Remain positive.

13.38 E7 waiting

On the night of the owl attack there were 2 viewers who either witnessed or heard the attack @ approximately 3:15 am. The lady heard a commotion, but did not see what happened. The gentleman who witnessed the attack said the owl was after both eaglets, However E8 took a severe blow to the back and fell. The gentleman anticipated E8 would have a possible severe injury. And now an eaglet has been seen with a broken leg somewhat near the nest. Will post Ft. Meyers ABC local news report, then NBC local report and view showing nest and and injured eaglet site.
