And the written update from CROW:

Well, it won't let me post ... goes to an error. But, this move not only builds her srength, but encourages her to eat on her own and if all goes well, the pin comes out in a couple of weeks.

It is so good to be back online 24/7, but probably just for one month and then I will once again have access only @ intervals. I have enjoyed and appreciated all of your reports to stay caught up!

I wasn't able to post the update either, trying again:
"...spread its wings and help build strength in its right leg. The move outside is to also encourage E8 to eat on its own without assistance. If E8 continues to improve over the next couple of weeks the next step will be to remove the pin from the femur."

Checked CROW's posts and couldn't find info on h/h sex or banding info either???

well that video certainly brought tears to my eyes. Look how happy she was to get outside again,

I did not think I had anymore I could donate, but I will find some somewhere. NO coffees out for a week and that should do it. I am so grateful to CRow.

Great news on E8's recovery on this rainy day in Florida! :7val:

E8 UPDATE: E8’s IM pin (intramedullary pin) which is used to join fracture bones has been removed from the right leg. Additional pins remain in the eaglets right leg and will be removed as the leg continues to improve. Since being moved to the outside small flight enclosure last week, the eaglet has been bright, alert and perching on higher perches. E8 still requires assisted feedings but recently ate full rats and a large fish on its own.

Well, they are a week late and I'm a little surprised @ their response:

CROW - Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, Inc. added 2 new photos.

Two of the most common questions we receive about E8 are:
1.) Will the eaglet be banded 2.) What is the eaglets sex
1.) There are no plans to band E8 unless there is a request from a state or federal agency. We do not have a license to band bald eagles (Ozzie was done by an outside agency).
2.) We do not know the sex of E8 and will not be doing DNA gender determination. Our main focus is the health and well-being of the eaglet.

E8 UPDATE: The remaining pins have been removed from E8’s right leg and the eaglet has started to bear more weight on the leg and use the right talon. E8 is eating frequently on its own without assistance and continues to remain bright, alert and responsive.

Oh, how precious - Thanks, Swin! Little egg tooth still there and h/h poor little head with the feathers missing from all of the rivalry (I'd forgotten about that!).
