Bird Cams Around the World

I saw this over the weekend and watched the video. So senseless and so cruel. I will never understand what it is that makes people hurt and/or kill animals. Is it a power thing? I just don't get it. Sometimes I really question the human race and our level of intelligence. I really hope they get this person. Looks like it was shot right in front of the house. Unbelievable.

Its very sweet.
It shows the owl family in their years of raising young.
The end of the video all you see is one second of her falling into the street.

I knew Mr had a new mate, but I didnt know what happened til today.

Mrs. GHO paid a visit yesterday to the nest, or what is left of the tree supporting it. The nest itself is in good shape, but there is no canope over it. Looks like she may consider nesting here again? Her 1st egg last year was on Jan 23.

As to her not keeping her first 2 eggs warm, thats why I think young, first year breeding.

A friend has buffalo with his cow herd.
His buffalo had a calf that died cuz it didnt suckle.
He said they often lose their first.
Nature is interesting. They have instinct but still have to learn.

Wow....2 eggs. Hoorah! She is beautiful.

January 13
Mrs2's new name is Altera, latin for alternative or 2nd. Alesandra's taking Latin.
Altera left her eggs for 2 hours in 30 degree temp, and flew to roof across street.
The male even landed on rail and hooted repeatedly for her to return.
She answered but didnt come.


January 14
Pre-dawn ice storm, temp 30
3.51 strong hail-ice storm, east wind, she's on north side
5.18 am more sleet

3.30 am Altera heard Mr and left. As she moved, I Heard crackling - she's full of ice !!
I hear them together off cam, both hooting. She was off 10 minutes, from 3.27 to 3.37 exactly.
5.50 am She's off eggs up on rail, shakes ice off herself, leaves briefly
7.10 am I hear Mr hooting
7.37 am Mr hooting - and daylight has broken - that musta been his good night

This cam's had tough luck.
2016 crows got 2 eggs.
