Egg 2 seemed to have pips - but 3 days behind,
its really gonna be picked on if it hatchs

Happy New Year Shep. My understanding from the moderators of the cam site is that the remaining egg is actually egg #1 based on its markings. No confirmed pip to date. There have been pieces of straw or egg shell stuck to the egg that has made all of us think there was a crack or pip, but to date, there has been none. Since this is the 1st egg laid, it is most overdue and probably won't hatch, which is probably a good thing for the reasons you mention.

Thanks Loza. Harriet is still tending to that egg even though it probably won't hatch. This pair did such a great job putting the nest together this year. It really looks good and so does the baby. I was watching last night and it never ceases to amaze me how the eaglets will sleep laying across mom's talons, such deadly weapons, yet they offer a sense of security and comfort to the eaglets. Precious! :loveheart2:

It was sleeting here yesterday with a very wet Harriet covering the chick to keep it warm and dry. Temps are still quite cold today and she is still brooding the chick.

A very active day with M bringing in several large sticks and a nice headless fish for Harriet.
E9 is 11 days old and is growing fast.

Cam is back up today. All looking good. This chick is well fed with a nice crop and food in the pantry. The unhatched egg is still there, but no longer being incubated. Here's a feed by Harriet.
