:teehee: Kind of like some human couples I know - are they bonding, or are they having a disagreement?

:loveshow: Tahoe ! Where in the world have you been! Thanks for catching her, Ferenz - but I'm wondering if it isn't about time for the resident female to be returning ? :nervous:

:wavingsnowgirl: Tahoe is at the nestbox this morning. She was preening, but now she seems to be watching or looking for something... Edit- :teehee: someone is controlling the cam. They zoomed in on Tahoe's leg, and sure enough, red/black U 33......

3snowflake: Well, Bev, Tahoe seems to be a bit of a free spirit.... She belongs at the old Milwaukee County Power Plant, which has changed hands and now is owned by the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (they use the building as the "thermal plant" for the hospital. The new owners have kept the nestbox, and allowed Greg Septon to band the chicks....but the cam is gone :girlsad3: Back to Tahoe, for three winters now, Tahoe leaves her nestbox in Wautosa and flies into Milwaukee to the Biosci building on the campus. The resident female there migrates for the winter SO Tahoe has her box to herself. We think the pigeon supply is greater in the city than in the suburbs where Tahoe's box is... I'm thinking though, that the resident female will be returning soon. LAst year she found Tahoe at her nestbox and they had quite a battle. Tahoe ended up back at her "home" box, and proceeded to go on with her life, and her mate there, Asa. She's a crazy girl, but I'm rather fond of her.....

:1snowflake:
And Tahoe's nest box is only 7 miles (as the crow flies) away. The male here at this box (Lightning) is the same male that abandoned Tahoe her first year leaving her to raise the babies herself (which she did quite well).
Lightning came here and killed Hoffman, and helped the unbanded female raise those babies that were not his.

Fast forward to now, and she overwinters here. If the unbanded female never returns one of these years, Tahoe will likely stay here and finalize this box as her first choice was here, three years ago.

I just wish the cam operator could have caught the male's band yesterday. I don't think it is Lightning anymore. Just a personal opinion.

:think So, Matrix you saw another male here, and it didn't look like Lightning? Did you notice the cam was knocked askew yesterday for a while? Do you think Tahoe invited Asa to join her? What happens when the resident female returns?? Oh goodness!!!! :nervous:

Looks like Tahoe has a visitor on the ledge:

she is mantling & eating her prey
whilst the other falcon with full crop is watching her...

:shock WOW, Ferenz- Thankyou for the catches! Tahoe is Not happy with her visitor... Is it Lightning? Is it Asa? A new tiercel? He doesn't seem to be bothered too much by her hostility. And kind of funny that he seems to be food begging when his crop is bulging..It wouldn't be one of her own hatches, would it?
