Great catch, Beth! Now I'm going to start a new topic for this nest...

Glad you caught 2 there, Kittenface! I'm seeing them on the perch less & less & have been getting concerned that they're going to nest on that elevator again this year instead of this beautiful nest! I also wondered because I only saw 1 there (not necessarily the same one).

The far one sure is really brownish looking

At first it looked like a Hawk or a juvie

Good eye, Kittenface--that's a juvie, it has streaks on its chest. That must be the lone chick from last year--a male, I think! And interestingly enough, it wasn't chased away!

It appears to be soaking wet--I think that's why that stripe on its head is so pronounced. Polly in Montreal has that, too.

You can't really tell from the pics, but looking at the cam it appears to be banded, which the juvie from this nest was.

You know seeing this one and then Polly it makes me wonder if more of the nests have juvies we don't know about (food for thought)

This must be last year's chick, cause I think the adult would have chased it away otherwise. :?

I was looking in my bird book & at first I thought it was maybe a Prairie Falcon cause they have that light stripe on their head, but they have a long dark streak where peregrines have the sideburns, so I still think this is a sub-adult peregrine.

For comparison, here is a picture of Polly. See the light streak along the top of her head. She's not wet, so its not so pronounced.
