:7val: I was here @ 8:17 - 8:19, bev. Looked like a crack now with some separation, but I could not see him. Now DVR is only going back a few minutes and I can no longer see it. Did you see Ma accidentily push B12 up the nest bole, almost to the rim @ about 7:17 while she was digging out the nest bole some? There was crack then, also.

:1val: She is being careful, bev ... 11:24-11:26 shows nice view of B13 still sitting in his half shell with his head and left wing hanging over the sides. She rolled it, but no further progress. I'll try that video.

:16val: Thanks bev! That one works!

At about 12:24 she's up and down 2-3 more times in quick succession, but he remains in the half shell.

:7val: :hatchegg: :hatchegg: Ma and Pa!! :7val: At 7:58 Ma feeds B12 and B13 is clearly out of the shell. Not raising head yet, but strong enough to wiggle and change positions in response to feed. For purists, chat reports B13 was still on the half shell @ 3 something this am and to me he seemed to be rid of shell @ 5:53 on cam 2, but still hard to see with IR. B12 hatched on day 41 and B13 on day 40 I think. All is well!!

:7val: At 10:21 on cam 1 Pa arrives with nesting fluff and meets B13 for the 1st time! Ma was feeding B12 for the 2nd time and B13 is still too weak to lift head, but continues to move around as best he can. Ma did leave and Pa is on duty!! Pa looks dry after his fly about and hoping Ma can dry more after hers. There is a break in the rain for now.:16val:

:16val: At 12:15, Ma returned from break and Pa leaves quickly. I think it was a long, bumpy, ride for him! :10val: She is dry now, but you can tell her undercarriage is wet from fishing or standing in water for a drink maybe. She immediately feeds B12 more squirrel. B13 is vocal @ intervals and attempts to lift head, but can't hold yet. It's more of a toss that propels him sometimes, once causing him to nearly land completely on his back. But, he is able to make correction without any assist.

At about 1:43 on cam 1 you see Pa fly in to a branch out of sight. Ma decides to get up and feed B12 from the squirrel again. Next thing you know, Pa lands in the nest and starts easing into the bole even as she feeds. He gives B12 a peck then B13, and keeps edging in further until Ma stops feed abruptly, looks @ him exasperated, then leaves! Pa on duty!! :teehee:

:16val: At 2:28 on cam 1 Ma returns. Pa flies to branch. Ma eats from squirrel and then feeds B12 again. B13 is a little sluggish to move @ first, but eventually he gets up and shows signs of some strengthening of neck muscles as he is able to lift his head halfway up without propelling about his body and hold very briefly, although he does fall gently. When Ma finished feed and was prepping for brood, he actually held his head up all the way a couple times briefly while leaning on B12. He's getting there!!

:15heartbeat: 3:05 Pa back with delivery of whole fish to nest and flies! Edit to add: Ma delivered the smaller fish (just above Pa's) to nest when she came back this time. I think Pa wasn't going to be outdone! :16val:

Edit to add: I couldn't understand how Ma had delivered the fish as I was watching and didn't see it in her talon. She had landed on the branch initially and her back was to me. But, on cam 2 you could see it in her mouth just before she dropped it on the nest.
