:1snowman: Pa has made at least a couple of visits to the nest this morning. Still a wet, nasty, day there.

 Pa in at 3:44 with a large stick that almost overtook him! After some wrangling and snipping he finally took control. He flew out 7 minutes after arriving.

:1snowman: Pa in at 3:43 with a fluff delivery and stayed only 5 minutes. Then he returned at about 4:04 with a humongous branch that he tried to place, but quickly realized there was some trimming to do!! After he took care of that task, it was over to the bowl for short work and a nice rest! He flew at 4:20!

 Pa just left at 3:43! He's been in a couple times mid-afternoon, with the 1st visit bringing in remnants of a mammal. He took a couple bites, then went to the bowl to work on it or stand around. I think this food was meant for Ma, but she did not show up. He left! In a bit, he returned with fluff for the bowl and stood a long while. Eventually, he went over and ate his gift for Ma as she just was not showing up to enjoy!

:1snowman: Pa back at 4:59 and Ma in a minute later. Some work to the bowl and Pa looked for leftovers from his meal earlier, then tried out the bowl and to the rails for work. Ma settles down, maybe for the night and Pa flew at 5:15!

:1snowman: Edit to add: At 6:25, still here, so she plans on spending the night!!

:1snowman: Pa in at 9:38 with a partial food gift for Ma. She showed up a minute later and claims. Pa up to the right branch and out of view at 9:45. She finished her mammal meal at 9:52 and looked for remnants. Pa shows up on the left branch at 9:55 while Ma was messing with a stick on the rail. He joined her and took control of the stick with their usual short nips to each other, then he trimmed another stick nearby and then heads to the bowl for some work. Then back to the rail stick, to the bowl, to the rails. Ma flew at 10:02 and Pa followed. He returned at 10:16 with a stick to place, work at other railing and out at 10:27.

:4santawave: Some pics from this morning.

843 am Dad brought in a nice big stick and was doing nestorations this morning.
Image

938 am He left and came with breakfast for the Mrs. It looked like some form of water fowl, half eaten by Dad.
Image

939 am Mom arrived right on his heels. Dad on the left. The prey is in front of him and not visible.
Image

940 am Mom ate the leftovers while Dad worked on the nest. She really has trouble with that left talon. She cannot use it to hold down prey. It appears she can only use the good right talon to hold food, so she can tear off pieces. It is just amazing how she perseveres and survives.

we had an intruder female on nest this morning around 10am. Dad had borught in prey and she cam e in . Dad voiced his displeasure and then went to left branch . he flew off branch at 10:34.
female ate all the prey and then looked out back and them lay in nest. Dad came back in on the back with hay at 11:39 and female stood up . she poked in bowl and lay back down. Dad did not say anything and either did she . He left on left branch at12:02pm and she eventually left at 12:10 . she seemed very comfortable
We need to see ma as this one did look comfortable. A hurried tale of happenings just to draw your attention to it. this does not look good, in my opinion.

a few pciutres
intruder female comes in . dad has brought prey and was waiting fo r mom

dad is on left branch and female i s eating

female lying in bowl

dad comes in with hay and female stands up

dad makes no move toward her or her toward him. He stays on back and then goes up to left branch and leave . she pokes in nest and lies back down

I hope someone is out there. I came in as it was brought to my attention. this really pains me. Sorry I cannot be around but I am on a needed break.

:holwave: Thanks Bev and Hi! Christmas blessings to you too. All quiet for the last hour. I am concerned for the nesting season here. Moms L leg seems more bent and she really struggles with it. It did not seem very useful to her yesterday and makes it hard for her to maneuver and balance. Despite it all, she hangs on. She has such a strong will and they are such a tight pair. Whatever will be, will be. Hoping for the best.
