Attempting to update the Charlo nest. Mother goose is still there, but there are only 2 eggs now as one cracked. They do believe the female that joined Charlie is Charlotte from her behavior. While she did not disturb the geese on her and Charlies usual nest when she returned from her migration, the next day she did do some dive-bombing. To me it looked a little more ferocious of an attempt by her than was Charlies back when he made at least a 2 day attack, but she gave up much sooner than Charlie did with his. Charlie had already started bringing in nesting materials to the new platform before Charlotte's return, but together they have really built it up. So we will still see Charlie and Charlotte on their nest, but from afar as the mods have said the platform they are using does not lend itself to a cam. The cam ops are splitting their coverage to include both nests. Will be interesting to watch the goslings jump from their nest within a day or two of hatching!

On the Charlo Osprey nest, Mother Goose and Father Goose have a big annoucement! Their eggs have both pipped this morning! The mod is saying about 24 hours after the 2nd hatch the goslings will follow Mom from the nest and jump to the ground to continue their journey!!

The 2nd gosling hatched either last evening or during the night. Mother Goose did not allow any looks till earlier today and it was already dry. The goslings are so beautiful, that they actually look almost artificial to me. They expect the "big leap" to take place later today or tomorrow!

They did it!! They both took the "big leap"!! Both are on the ground with Mom and Dad!!

Mother Goose is hungry and tired. She has been foraging and stopping to rest. Dad has stood nearby. The chicks have walked around some. They are not going to the pond. Mother Goose has laid down on the ground near the nest pole area and is asleep with her head tucked at 7:20 CDT! The chicks found their way under her. And they have zoomed in, so you can no longer see Dad, but he is there! Good luck you all!!

"This cam is mounted on a steel tower that gets moved for the Great Horned Owl seasons as they do not settle on the same nest.
