This feeding wasnt quite as a using as the last one. The three kids were definetly fighting over bites. Mom was giving more to Big and middle, but Tiny was stepping in whenever he could and sometimes giving a sibling a peck if theytook His bite....He is feisty!

Ya know..I was thinking. Greg Septon is pretty hands on..and the people that monitor these WE nests usually keep an eye on them. Maybe if they really thought Tiny was in serious distress, they might intervene..Or maybe that's my hopeful thinking.

PW...short...and not a very good feed (more of snack)....so they gotta do better with prey...

Baby got 2, maybe 3 bites...but, hung in there.

You think Baby's getting this bite...

Nope...mom took it back and gave it to another..she did this several times with all of them.

7:18, I am watching a feed. I came in a little late, but it seems to be a free for all, mostly between Tiny and Middle at this point. I wonder if Big has already been given his fill? Brinn gives bites to Middle, and then to Tiny, but Tiny is in there fighting for more. At one point he snatches the bite and pulls it down low where Brinn nor Middle can reach, gobbling as fast as he can - really it seemed like more than he could handle. Why does Brinn feed them so many feathers in with the prey? And were those feathers, or was it fur?

PW: FINALLY I caught a really good and long feed. It had already started...Big Bertha was "resting" which helped the other 2.

Middle was starting to get full, so...

Private dining for Tiny for quite a few minutes.

Then Big Bertha woke up...

Tiny got a couple more bites, but it was basically the Big bertha show after that.

Thanks for the catches, SGB! I see in a couple of them you caught the kids in their “toboggan” pose while they were being fed......

Whew...finally had time to check the cam...

I haven't caught a feed, but am rather miffed that I missed an epoch poop shot from Tiny!!!...great evidence that he's eaten well today!!! Still so tiny, though!!!

Oak creek- seems like nobody is home, have they fledges? Valley- looking almost ready... two on the ledge and one preening on the perch. PW - nap time..... :loveheart:

OakCreek - only one in sight on the ledge. Preening like crazy- I wonder in he/she is about ready to fledge? Valley- one fledgling left, standing on a rock....

Port Washington-I watched another free for all feeding here yesterday- Brinnseemed to be giving most of the bites to Tiny and Middle (and Tiny is getting Very good at reaching in and intercepting bites going to a sibling) As Brinn fed the other two though, Big Bertha was reaching in to self feed, being pretty successful at that, except for when Tiny grabbed the bite right out of her mouth.....It seems like Tiny and Middle have formed an alliance to counter Big Bertha’s “hugeness”. By the way, Tiny-is growing fast. He is almost...catching up to Middle in size...

Watching Port Washington- The cam is pulled in just tight enough that you can’t get a full view of the nest box. It seems like they may be scavenging for prey parts? Bertha is in the lower corner by herself, having found, I guess a good piece. Middle and Tiny are on the opposite wall, seeming to be picking at another piece. At one point Tiny ripped a piece off and scampered to another wall to eat his prize. He is still very much white with little tail pin feathers coming in. His siblings have much more brown….

All 3 kids have made it to the ledge. Seems like it wont be long until Big Bertha (E65) fledges.....Middle (E66) has only small areas that are still white, and our friend Tiny (E67) , saw his band today,still has a lot of white... Im assuming they were given names at banding....

Tsusan...thanks for keeping up here....I'm afraid my limited time has been spent documenting Richmond and trying to keep up with Bell and Nutrien (Canada)...I'll try to get some pics here today!!

PortW- I think it has been a while since they were fed. They gave each taken turns wrestling with an old wing. Bertha, in particular seems agitated. Just now she started beating her wings furiously and then launched into a long screeches for the parents to bring food. THEN she marched over to Tiny and started to gently pick at his chest like she was sizing him up for a meal....She has no crop and now is jumping up and down from the ledge and wing flapping...
