:dancegirl: So there are 2 male chicks and 2 female chicks @ Harrisburg with one of them away for treatment of trichomoniasis for now. One chick was immediately banded and placed back in the nest.

The bands are black/green and colored tape was placed on the right to temporarily be able to ID in the field.

Blue tape is a male, 02/BZ (b/g) and federal# 1126-08082, weight:660gms

Green tape is a female, 25/CA (b/g) and federal# 1947-47104, weight:920gms

Edit to add: corrected letter on Blue's band from V to B.

Apparently there were 4 hatches here...but, one chick did not survive. Looking through the archives, the poor thing was removed yesterday.

Update on Val and Cany's family. This year we have 4 very healthy young, 3 females and 1 male. They were banded by Zeka at just under 4 weeks of age. The boy looks as though he is the youngest, but he survived three older sisters - that is "the little one in the back" got to the front and got his fair share of food:). Day 42 for the girls is on Sunday May 15, so it may be that this year we have a very short fledge window; but of course the girls could just opt to sit around for a few weeks, contemplating.

Just wanted to alert South Bend Followers to a situation.

Intruder female. Maltese has not been seen since early this morning. Eggs are currently going on approximately 7.5 hrs without incubation.

Intruder female last in the box at 8 pm..

I have no words.

Edit to add: 8:18 and intruder female is currently in the box. Her behavior suggests Flash might be out there as well.
