:10sum: By the way, Moxie and Jamie have 2 future grandchildren over in the South Bend nest. Daddy Flash is their boy from the 2019 season.

:loveheart: Oh how I love to watch the times when Moxie comes into the nest box and tells Jamie it’s HER turn on the eggs. And Jamie lowers his head way down and says “ not yet” and Moxie says “ my turn” but Jamie refused and Moxie goes stomping off!

:egg14: Please, I need some veteran peregrine eyes on the Fort Way e nest. I think an intruder is fighting with Jamie. I think it came to the ledge- Moxie, who was on the eggs started screaming and lifted her wings. He must have retreated, and she is watching him fly…..just a minute ago.EDIT - All looks calm for now, hopefully the intruder knows they are NOT welcome…..

I just saw you post, TSusan about something rattling Moxie. Did anyone actually see another falcon? When I pulled the cam back I only saw her defending. Moxie and Jamie have had encounters with red-tailed hawks over the years, as we've had to rescue a few that they injured, but that is generally after the chicks have hatched. I've never seen her in defense posture while incubating! I'm hoping that is all it was and not another peregrine intruder :girlsad3:

We’ve had high winds here in Ohio, power was out, no Internet…. I’m hoping maybe a hapless hawk dropped in for an ill- advised visit, and not another peregrine! I’ll tell you, it had Me rattled to see Moxie looking so ferocious! PS,, Thanks for your video, Terka!

You got the whole episode on video, Terka! Thank you! It's surprising how one forgets seeing the falcon feed her chicks gently and keeping them warm and in the shade, how ferocious predators they can become if their families are threatened! :nervous:
