Anybody heard any news of when the Indiana nest will be banded? Petersburg is being banded TODAY at 10:30! Cross your fingers they can fix their cam easily.

Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Resource of Fort Wayne have posted a notice on Facebook. Moxie and Jamie’s kiddos will be banded on Friday, May 19 at 3:30. They invite us to watch by the live cam, and hopefully a livestream provided by Indiana and Michigan or a Facebook live by a Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Resource volunteer. They will let us know as more details become available :biggrin:

The 2020 daughter of Moxie and Jamie (black/blue S/07) is alive and well. She turned up in Pittsburgh at the Cathedral of Learning!

And, Pittsburg has decided to keep her name, “Carla”, named after a long time, retired employee of Indiana Michigan Power, Carla E. Simpson

Thanks so much, Apollo!! Sadly, I will be at work...would love to get band numbers if we can...we record them every year on our calendar...ya never know when a youngster will show up.

The direction Moxie is looking in your picture, Catwoman, is the direction the banders come from. It’s almost like she knows! Moxie sure gave the banding team quite the greeting last year! All 3 chicks napping… will the hoomans come pretty soon? Oops boy is up again! :biggrin:

They will take the babies down inside the building to be banded. You can be sure Moxie and Jamie are raising a ruckus!! One person will remain to clean out debris in then nestbox. It usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes to band them and put them back in the nest. Moxie will plant herself near the box waiting impatiently for Her babies to be returned…. I’m going to check the Facebook feed now….

The babies are coming back- 2 boys and a girl, Squirt, Stuart and Marshmallow :loveheart:

Moxie is waiting on the wall behind the nestbox...Irs fun to watch the people duck as stealth Moxie goes by!
