I realized a few days ago that instead of going back and forth, you can use the "refresh" button which is to the left of the back button. Every little bit helps!

They just finished a long feed. The baby was not happy with the amount he got (or didn't get)..and tried to steal outta the beaks of his siblings. (not successful..)

Image

He did get the dreaded foot..which took him quite a while to get down.

Image

The middle chick got the second foot.

Feed complete. Crop of one of the older chicks.

Aww the foot in the mouth! Sweet. Great pictures. Have you noticed the older chick digging at his skin a lot? I guess they all do that to some extent but this poor little guy seems to be in distress with the itching.

I have noticed that they are quite itchy. They probably have mites..the good news is that they have started preening...which should help reduce mite numbers...at least in theory that should happen..plus I've been told that growing in their new feathers can be quite itchy..

Will be posting more photos but these guys are stuffed. I caught a few videos of Yankee flying by and Dixie right behind. She came back with prey, so he must be also filling a stash when he can.
What a team
Thankyou for photos

This is a banded bird they are having for lunch. I just can't figure out what it is. Big feet!

Oh dear is right!

I saw a crow bring something to my bird bath just now and he was picking at something! It was a dead bird. Booooo
I have no idea why the crow brought the bird to the bird bath. Nature can be baffling!!!

Oh Gosh...I'll tell ya, nature is not only baffling, but sometimes cruel...I've had crows raid my cardinal nests...and several years ago, a squirrel wiped out my Towhee nest...I know that crows also need to feed their babies...but, I had no idea squirrels were meat eaters..
