Topeka...they are still stuck in night mode.

I'm starting to get a tad concerned about the baby..he just doesn't seem to be growing. I had to go look..and I hope we have the dates wrong, because he is only a day younger than chick #2.

Early feed was mostly blocked..so, don't know how he did....thankfully, they've been feeding a lot here.

I noticed earlier that these chicks need dusted. They should go up before banding.

I sure hope they band here...so far, this little one looks like he's eating well, but I don't think he feels well...everything about him looks rough...bless his little self.

Nemaha and her special baby. There is so much wrong with this chick...from swollen eyes, and strange beak..to the obvious stunted growth and very poor feather development..I also think he must have a heavy parasite load...but, Mom is so attentive and caring...and broods him a lot to help him stop crying...he cries alot.

Still a great appetite and finds the front.

He roams a lot...He was in the corner crying...but, Nemaha went to get him. Physically pulled him toward her..and started brooding. This helped to calm him down.

they usually band here...so praying that will happen, that they'll keep the baby and figure out what's wrong...and help him out. He's just precious..and such a fighter.

I've been watching this site too and have noticed how ill the baby is but mom has been putting a lot of effort to her care. She is amazing. I hope someone can come and help out soon. So sad.

Little does look better...anyway..rumor has it (FB) that they will be banded today and the baby will have a checkup...
