According to Raptor Resource Project, Alice has disappeared from Great Spirt Bluff. It isn't certain, but they believe she was taken by a Great Horned Owl, the same as her mother. :tissue:

I have been watching this cam everyday, and trying to get bands of all falcons. they are such a pleasure to watch. things happen . without seeing this happen, I would have just said, she has not been seen for a few days, rather than assuming ti was the owl.
But that is how I look at life.
none the less, I will keep watching and looking

Not very crazy about posting this. I'm doing it cause SGB needs to update her calendar. Another Great Spirit Bluff juvie, Jaycee, was taken by an owl last night. :tissue:

I mistakenly clicked on the youtube video which was on BCAW FB, and all morning I've been hearing Jaycee's scream. :sorrow:

You can say what you want about falcons raised in cities and the dangers they face, but I don't know any that's endured the tradigity of this nest during the past few years. :cryinggirl:

EDIT: JAYCEE GOT AWAY FROM THE OWL! There are pictures of her today eating! :CLAPS:

Yesterday, I took this picture of Jaycee, but didn't have time to post it before going out of town... :cryinggirl:

I hate to ask...because, I'm certainly NOT going to go watch the video...how do they know?

I was worried about there as she spent night on box. there is light that shows the box at night . is that light visible to owls or is it just visible to us.

man, I am heart sick, but whatever happened, here it was a success , that they fledged.

Bev....I want to say that the light is visible to us only...but, don't think it would make much difference with an owl and their incredible night vision.

Some incredibly sad news to report from Montreal.

The little munchkin slipped from the ledge around 6 am this morning. It was believed, hoped he survived. Reported on FB about an hour ago. The baby did not survive. Just heartbreaking...

Murphy's boy, eaglet #126 was successfully released this morning. He flew out over the body of water to the other side and sustained flight for quite some time before landing on a branch, then almost immediately flew out again and landed on another branch. They did a FB live of the event and will also have photos and videos later. He was released in an area where eagles meet up post fledge and eagles in general to hunt and fish. He was banded this morning prior to coming to the park for release. Have a great life 126 and...Thanks, Murphy!
