Nest box needs a new roof!

Well, now I am happy! At 8;53 by the cam clock, two peregrines appeared. One, Moxie I think hopped into the nest box calling Jamie( I saw his bands) in. The cam is still turned and the 2 peregrines went back in the corner that is out of sight. After a bit Jamie marched to the edge of the nest and left, and Moxie came to watch him. One thing I wondered a out, Moxie seemed to duck cautiously as she looked up. Im hoping its not an intruding bird.

I found a falcon napping in the nest box around 7:18 this am. Banded red/black but not sure who as he/she was kind of scrunched down as they napped. They sure could use a new roof here…..

Moxie spent some time in her box this morning. She stepped out of sight, but in watching her tail feathers, it looked like she was working on a scrape. I have yet to see Moxie’s daughter, Carla (S/07 bl/blu) on Pittsburghs cam, but Kate St John has seen her, per her blog.

I found Moxie snoozing at her nest box this morning. I think Jamie. Use have called to her as he flew toward the nest box because she jumped up suddenly and hopped out to the ledge. Jamie brought in a little tid bit to Moxie, and she ate it promptly…

Around 8:00 this morning I found Moxie out on “Roosevelt’s Wall” looking for Jamie. First he came into the nestbox, and then saw Moxie out on the wall. He launched, and circled around toward Moxie as she got into the position. He must not have lined things up right, because he seemed to be unbalanced as he bumped into Moxie and took off. Next time!
