The banding of Moxie and Jamie's chicks will be Friday 5-17-24. The chicks will be retrieved at approximately 3:50pm EST. and will be returned to the nest box at approximately 4:30pm EST.

Here we go! Soarin Hawk stream shows the banders on the way up….! Putting on their harnesses and hard hats….On the roof! Moxie has spotted them! Close call…Hello chickies, how about some bling? One is very vocal, very alert! Really chewing them out! The second to the last one is the chip off her ancestor’s block. Very assertive! :loveheart:

Hi Beth! They are putting on a good show! I think John Castrale is there- the” Dean” of falcons in Indiana..The Chicksare arriving in the banding area! Noisy!!!!! :loveheart:

“Storm”, the first one banded is furious! “Tom” is t too happy either. Meanwhile Moxie on the railing by the nest box looking for her kids! Third chick is a boy, “River”. He was quiet at first but told the banders off later…And the fourth chick has been named Cindy :loveshow:

Im watching the nest box... All seems quiet, but Ill bet Moxie and Jamie are lurking somewhere./ Here come those hoomans!! Jamie is screaming! I wonder if Moxie is dive bombing the banders? Finally they are coming to return the chicks. Hmm the umbrella is out. Somebody is giving them a hard time ... The biologist is looking just past the cam :egg19:

Ill bet Moxie is watching them. Cleaning the box quickly...Cleaning the cam lens, add more pea gravel. And putting the chicks back!

Hello everyone! It was a glorious day for banding and I wish I could share the picture, but I don’t know how to get pictures on this group. But here is the information for your records. If anybody Would like to go to our Facebook page I posted a picture of the four of us holding the chicks

Introducing the class of 2024. 2 boys and 2 girls were banded this afternoon at the Indiana Michigan Power Center in downtown Fort Wayne, IN

Left to right-River (M) (U49), Tom (M) (U37), Cindy ( F)(U48) and Storm (F)(U36)

Tom and Cindy were named in honor of our late mayor and first lady of Fort Wayne who both passed away earlier this year.

BTW.. I was honored to be able to hold Cindy!
