went back and watched
She did all the right things thi s morning, but chick one would not have survived to this point and possibly chick 2 also.( very sad but I am glad we were able to save her chicks. they will carry on her legacy and the males)

But she ate a bit and hope she finished that before she came back. There was a stash somewhere.

so now we see if she accepts this one.
in my heart I hope our male is somewhere out there , just not able to come back , just now .
( we saw how the present female at U of a came in , injured and she healed at site and is now on eggs)
We cannot see what happens beyond the cam, and so I never say never.

Going back over the archive, intruder was there. Resident falcon chased it way.

Intruder in a lot today. I have to figure out what is going on before it loses name intruder.

I think she is confused where her peeps are. From hearing them to silence.
But this was right decision. .
Can never know the future , but we know what we were seeing. We did not know if a male would stick around. We did not know how he would be with chicks

But he finally came into box today. He is bigger than our resident male
Every nest makes their choices. With all the chicks dying this year, I am Glad this decision was made.

I have not had time to post since Friday but have a lot of notes and pictures

Well , we will watch and see. Miserable weather here for a few days

Will come in later today with some photos

male has 2 white bands down his head
He i s bigger than former resident male( I will not say deceased, we do not know. there was no sign and he may be somewhere , if in fight, healing his wounds) . We have seen falcons in severe fights and later on turn up at another nest. Maybe not this year. We never got his full band . there were some theories out there, but then , when he put leg a different way, it looked different. but Emyrauld and I know him

He was a great male. He had to teach Red band. She was used to him bringing prey and doing most of hunting. She was used to him being there regular as clockwork, so it hurt the heart to hear her soft call after first hatch. she knew , he should be coming in.

but now we must start a new chapter. that i show nature rolls

Today it was raining. 9:19- F leaves and male ot box( he was in and out of box , mostly in, till 11:17) Spent a lot o f time in box but was not interested in eggs. It appears he showed a bi t more interest at about 10:01
male left at 11:17 and female in at 11:18am ( male did a lot of chupping when he was in, maybe asking her to return)I think when he went out , he was looking for her, but he was never away for long)
4:32pm - Red still on eggs. male has been to front a few times and left

he did stay at box , all the while Red was out, except for a few quick offs

he is scraping

He came in a bit later

1:00pm - Female out and male to box
1:46- male still at box( started raining)
1:56pm - sun out male still there
2:33pm - male to front perch, calls out and leaves
2:39- Male to box chupping and flies out again ( was there 1hour 39 minutes)
I notice male does a lot of chupping while eat box.
2:42pm - F in chuppping and on eggs
5:59pm - male to front perch chupping and then out
8:16pm- F slowly gets up and flies out
8:26pm - male to box by eggs. almost seems ot bow while in box( his feet are very black)
( low calling) Male scrapes a few times
8:39- male flies out
8:50- male back chupping and walks around box.
8:52- male to front perch and out ( mal e was in 15 minutes)
8:56- F in and to eggs

so we see what tomorrow brings
male was away 17 hours from evening of June3- afternoon of june4.

-male did a good job today
-he was in and out quickly at 4:46 am , 7:26 am
-He cam e in at 9:17am - - 11:14am ( he showed more interest in eggs, he scraped right by them and even moved a couple

3:54pm- F up and male in box, F out
- male rolled one egg
3:56pm - male out and 4pm - Female in and on eggs
8:44pm - M to box , both chup, F out
M goes by eggs and nudges 2 eggs adn then to front of box
8:55pm - male out
8:59pm - male in chupping ; went by eggs , then to front of box and preens and watches
9:04pm - watchful and rolls one egg and then another
9:06pm- male to left front and out
9:15pm - male to box, F to front perch , they bond , F out and mal e out
9:18pm- F in and on eggs

we have a kid and she is not going to let anyone take it away LOL and looking to the back
