Sad and tragic news at U of Alberta, Canada..

Egg started hatching...Maybe the chirping chick freaked out this new mom...but, she killed and then consumed it. :tantrum2: :cryinggirl:

More tragic news from U of A, per bev. the Male destroyed the second hatching chick.

Seili osprey pair lost their only chick June 22nd, 2024, 8:42 pm by a crow who took away the ospret Lillan from the nest when it was left unguarded for a moment. :gaaaaah:

Sad to report that one of the chicks passed away on Wednesday...and so close to fledge time. Very lethargic when I checked on them Wednesday morning...

Cam is currently off line, but when I checked late Wednesday afternoon while I was out of town, it appeared deceased in the box. :sorrow:
