More kestrel chicks to report!

    - Second hatch at Belarus today.

    - Three hatches at Centrale Bergum between May 19 and May 21, with the fourth hatch expected tomorrow. (The still cam for Bergum was frozen, and I forgot there was a new live cam until just now. When I opened the live cam and saw chicks under the kestrel, I translated the messages and learned of the hatches and dates.)

WHAT? WHERE? WHEN? HOW DO I GET IT? HOW DID I MISS IT? :wildman:

KF - I added the live cam link to the Kestrel Cam Links after Dutch Eagle Fan posted the new link on May 16. Here's the link from the cam links page:

The last 3 eggs at Belarus hatched early this morning! It's now a full house of 5 chicks.

I know that it's quite normal for a kestrel to have 5 eggs but it seems to me that this year there are a lot of nests with 5/6 eggs which are all hatching

All eggs hatched, 6 chicks to feed. So flying in and out with mice.

I am making a short movie every day of feeding the chicks in the evening to see them grow. You can find those highlights at:

Beth - Do you have a link for that kestrel nest you were talking about yesterday? I don't recognize it. :?

Thanks, Beth, for info and links to the Kempten cam. I had that on the Kestrel Cam links page, but I hadn't bookmarked it on my computer. :?

I'll have to add the Kempten info to the Kestrel Nesting calendar during the next update.
