Beth!! another cam! Oh, but it's great to see them healthy and in the wild, not in the incubator.

The cam is still running, but now we are seeing different birds.

1) Link to live cam:

2) Videostreaming using Windows media player:

1. Start windows media player
2. Choose File, Open URL, then type: http://tjeldcam.uib.no:24002

This cam has sound!

Here's a world first for Italy. We have a cam on a Roller. These beautifully coloured birds make a long migration and arrive in the dry areas of the south of Italy in mid-May. Terna, the Italian electricity company, has put hundreds of nest boxes on its pylons and also sponsors other nests (the peregrines Aria and Vento, for example). There are cams on some of these nests and this year we're very lucky as a pair of Rollers has decided to nest in one of the boxes.

There are 6 eggs and hatching should be any day now (incubation time is 18-20 days). It's very hot so the female leaves the nest every now and then for a breath of air.

A huge thanks to Carlo of our site and Mauro at Terna. :thankyou

Info from Glenham 6/19/10

Nest is not done yet. Swifts lay the first egg when the nest is a little over half way done. They will continue to build...
Swifts have been building nest like this for hundreds of years... it will hold both parents and 4-6 chicks  without falling off the wall..

Chimney Swifts lay eggs every other day.

We always have baby gulls (usually Western Gull) at IBRRC. They are round and fluffy. As soon as they have enough feathers, we transfer them to our Pelican Aviary outside.

Video: Mom, I want to sleep in

Around 4:15 AM in Bergen Norway, and two of the three baby gulls are ready to start the day with Mother and Father. The third seems a bit reluctant. He’s very comfortable under Mom’s warm feathers.

Larus canus

In case anyone doesn't have the link!

Puffin cam that is awesome...It has a cam in the "nest" (!)

RSPB Puffin website * cam in Scotland - Look For The Puffin thumbnail, there are two cameras,
a camera is inside and cam 2 shows the entrance.
We are not sure when the baby "puffling" hatched.
Remember Uk time...
