Love your TY pic. Mr & Mrs Scarlet Tanagar. I saved it. It may make a good fluorescent poster ( you'd think that using the paints since the 70's I'd remember how to spell it) :hahah

A slightly worrying drive today. Marc saw an elle in obvious distress. At first he thought she was ready to give birth but since she had a baby with her it seemed unlikly. She lay down & wasn't moving for so long another ranger thought she died. But then she moved. The thought was maybe the young elle was adopted so she could possibly be pregnant. Her belly was so huge when she was laying down/Marc stayed with her until she got up. She started moving out of Djuma boundary. I hope the other people will go & try & see what's happening with her. Karula was also nearby. Double danger. Hopefully it was just a hard delivery & she is ok

The same poor elle again. Very weak. Rexon is convinced she is deseased. When Rexon had to drive off the little one was calling to the other herd to let them know that Mommy wasn't going to make it. He also is convinced the little one will be adopted by the herd.. It does make me teary

This morning the elle cow was laying down by the side of the road. One of the staff walked down the road toward her, stopped, picked up a rock & threw it into the water. I don't think they felt it was a safe place for her to lay down in. If a landy came by she could get up, loose balance & be worse of then before. They are still trying to figure out what's wrong with her. latest is a miscarriage & she has been trying to expel it for a week

I watch here to and seen her in the PM Drive 27 september.
She was eating and with her young son and family.
To help means sedation/ narcose and that is very very risky with Elephants.
It can kill easely.
So also in fireside chat Pete explaned de "does" and "donots" very clear.
She is not weakened that mutch and we all hope she can overcome this miscarriage (spell?)
Today no news so far.

This just boggles my Mind. Poor Jurie
http://www.djuma.com/blog/index.php?itemid=87
Her problem was not caused by humans, they should have left her alone. I can just see the vet causing her more problems & anxiety, what of the little one she has with her. If people can't watch some of what happens in nature they should not watch or close their eyes for those few minutes. Jurie could pull the plug & nor more Djuma drives if people are that cruel to him
