Sad news, to date 4 large bucks & one mature doe on Deer Run have died from Blue Tongue disease. Stickers who I have a pic of on July 31, Double Drop was wide heavy with multiple short drops over 20 points. One of Stickers sons, another called Brow TIne. There's a few other impressive bucks we are crossing our fingers for

:-(
Does this mean that deer hunting season in this area may not take place because of this disease?

Here's some info on Blue tongue http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/ani ... efse.shtml
Thankfully there's no hunting allowed on their property. Only 1 entrance to the whole area through the mountains. They are praying for an early frost which will kill the midges. Good thing it only comes around every 4-5 years. I'm so happy that I have saved my pics of Stickers from last year. Sadly I didn't get any of Double Drop Or Brow Tine. Praying that Polly, Tiddleywinks, Triple Drop, Viking, Wrinkles stay safe along with the rest of the protected herd. It's hard for them to know how many of the other deer succumed. Staff really doesn't want to go trapessing through the bush as it will traumatize the wildlife. They'll only go to fill feeders & take care of area surrounding the feeders & cams. Nature will take care of nature. They are moving the carcasses to Lost Field as it is the only one with a good night time cam

SGB USEE is free now, but you have to register in order to post & get into the forums. I'll repost previous pics of Stickers. Thisz was taken by Suem one of the staff July 22

They put him out in front of feeder on Lost Field, the antlers weren't removed. All deer that die are used to feede rthe other wild creatures. A Black coyote has been sited at Lost field. If I can watch lions & leopards eating close up I guess I can watch this cam. I wish they removed the antlers, that way it doesn't seem so "personal"
Eagles should be coming very soon to Bird Point, Trumpeters will start arriving in about 5 weeks give or take

From the worlds largest bird feeder at Turkey Hollow. I've come to the conclusion that this is a female indigo bunting
